Hosted by Sasha Janes, Chautauqua Dance Artistic Advisor, this program will feature Alumni Stars Angelica Generosa and Pete Leo Walker in performance and conversation followed by an audience Q & A. Currently a soloist with Pacific Northwest Ballet (PNB), Ms. Generosa and PNB soloist Dylan Wald will be performing a work by Jerome Robbins. Pete Leo Walker (CHQ Dance Alumni 2009-2010) is a currently with Aspen Santa Fe Ballet and will be performing a work by Dwight Rhoden of Complexions Contemporary Ballet with dancer Kelly Sneddon.

Angelica Generosa is from South River, New Jersey. She studied on scholarship at the School of American Ballet and Princeton Ballet, and she attended summer courses at the School of American Ballet, Chautauqua Summer Program, and New Jersey Ballet. She also studied with Gina Forcella in Sayreville, New Jersey. In 2011, Ms. Generosa joined Pacific Northwest Ballet as an apprentice. She was promoted to corps de ballet in 2012 and soloist in 2016. 

Ms. Generosa was the recipient of the Youth American Grand Prix Regional Hope Award in 2005, and she was a YAGP New York finalist in 2007. She also was the recipient of the School of American Ballet Mae Wien Award for Outstanding Promise.

Ms. Generosa has performed as a guest artist with the Vail International Dance Festival, American Academy Ballet, and the Chautauqua Alumni Dance Festival. Some of the leading roles she has performed in her career include the principal role in George Balanchine’s Theme and Variations, Princess Aurora in Ronald Hyde’s The Sleeping Beauty, William Forsythe’s The Vertiginous Thrill of Exactitude, Tarantella by George Balanchine, Sugar Plum Fairy in George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker and Justin Peck’s Year of the Rabbit.

From Jacksonville, FL, Pete Leo Walker began his training at Nutmeg Conservatory for the Arts. In 2010 Pete joined Charlotte Ballet, where he danced a diverse repertoire including works by George Balanchine, William Forsythe, Twlya Tharp, Jiri Kylian, Sasha Janes and Dwight Rhoden. In 2011-2012 Pete received the prestigious Princess Grace Dance Fellowship Award and in 2012 was promoted to Principal Artist. The following year he was listed in Dance Magazine’s “Top 25 to Watch” 2013 edition. In December 2014, he performed “Who Cares” at the Kennedy Center Honors Awards, as tribute to Patricia McBride. Following his tenure with the Charlotte Ballet, in 2015 he joined Aspen Santa Fe Ballet under the direction of Tom Mossbrucker; performing works by artists such as Gerald Arpino, Cayetano Soto, Alexander Ekman, Nicolo Fonte, and Jorma Elo. 

Cocktails, Concerts & Conversations is the CHQ Assembly performing arts series intended to connect people through music, theater and dance. Mondays will feature Opera artists and be hosted by Chautauqua Opera Company General and Artistic Director Steven Osgood; Tuesdays will feature Chautauqua Dance and be hosted by Artistic Advisor Sasha Janes; Wednesdays will feature Theater artists and be hosted by Chautauqua Theater Company Artistic Director Andrew Borba; Thursdays will feature soloists in recital and be hosted by Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra Music Director Rossen Milanov, and Fridays will feature popular entertainment artists and be hosted by Vice President of Performing and Visual Arts Deborah Sunya Moore. We hope this panoply of performances will lift your spirits and invite you bring those spirits (ones that fill both your heart and your glass) to join us at 5 p.m. on most weekdays through the summer.
