Chautauqua Opera Company‘s 2019 mainstage season features three operas based on the three ‘Figaro Plays’ by playwright Pierre Beaumarchais: Rossini’s classic romp Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Vid Guerrerio’s contemporary adaptation of Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro¡Figaro! (90210), and John Corigliano and William Hoffman’s grand opera buffa The Ghosts of Versailles. For the first time audiences will be able to experience this unique “trilogy” of operas on consecutive nights during the company’s Trilogy Weekend happening July 25–27, 2019, by purchasing an all-inclusive package through the Athenaeum Hotel.
