CHQ OFN 2019 Design

The Chautauqua Sports Club offers a wide variety of recreational and leisure activities. The Sports Club is pleased to once again offer rentals of two new Smith Boys 22' Berkshire Pontoon Boats docked at Chautauqua Main Dock on a weekly, daily, and half-day basis during the season. The Sports Club continues to offer kayak, canoe and paddle boat rentals, fishing rod rentals and live bait, sports equipment, shuffleboard, lawn bowling, horseshoes, mah jongg, and bridge. Fees vary. Season and punch card passes are available for bridge and lawn bowling.

The Sports Club provides leagues for men's and women's softball. The Sports Club also hosts a Beach-to-Beach Color Sprint on July 11, 2019 and the popular annual Old First Night Run/Walk fundraiser on August 3, 2019. Register for Old First Night Run/Walk here.

Summer Hours of Operation:

Monday–Saturday | 10 a.m.–6 p.m. 

Sunday | 1–5 p.m. (Boat rental checkouts/returns held during business hours.)

Motor Boat Rentals (Weekly/Daily/Half Day)

  • Two New 22' Berkshire Pontoon Boats Available 
  • Weekly reservations with 50% non-refundable deposit accepted pre-season
  • Walk-ins only for daily rentals during business hours 
  • Tubes available for rent
  • Pontoon Boats docked at Chautauqua Main Dock
  • All safety equipment included with rentals

Kayak/Canoe/Paddleboat Rentals

Life jackets provided with all boat rentals.

  • Single kayak (1 or 2 hour rentals)
  • Double kayak
  • Canoe
  • Paddle boat (half hour rentals) 
  • Life jackets provided with all boat rentals

Saliboat rentals available at John R. Turney Sailing Center. 

Recreational Activities (Fees vary)

Shuffleboard (Must be 12 to play without adult supervision)
Lawn bowling (Age 14 and older)
Free 15 minute lawn bowling instruction at 12:45 prior to 1pm session on MWTF — encouraged for beginners
Fishing (live bait for sale and fishing poles for rent)

Free Activities

Indoor and Outdoor Ping Pong
Corn Hole
Kan Jam
Small equipment loan (basketballs, volleyballs, chess, frisbee, checkers, board games)
Cable television access to all major sporting events (during regular hours of operation)


Old First Night Run/Walk | Saturday, August 3, 2019 at 8 a.m.
Run or walk the 2.75 mile race around the perimeter of the grounds.
Proceeds benefit the Chautauqua Fund.

Beach-to-Beach Color Sprint | Thursday, July 11 at 4:30 p.m.

Weekly Duplicate Bridge Games | Sundays at 7pm & Thursdays at 1:15pm (fee included)

Weekly Mah Jongg Game | Tuesdays at 1 p.m. (free)

Mah Jongg Tournament | TBD

Weekly Paddle and Popsicles | Tuesdays from 1-3 p.m.

Weekly Fishing Fun | Fridays from 3-5 p.m.
