Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra :: 90th Anniversary Season

The 90th anniversary season of the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra included 22 Chautauqua Amphitheater performances over the course of eight weeks of the Institution’s 2019 summer season. Maestro Rossen Milanov entered his fifth season as CSO music director and principal conductor. The CSO’s 2019 season began on June 27, with a program featuring celebrated pianist Alexander Gavrylyuk performing Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, and concluded on Aug. 20, in a joint performance with renowned trumpeter Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra.

CSOhistoryAn Institution orchestra of 21 musicians had been organized in 1903 by Henry B. Vincent, assistant music director at Chautauqua, and a swiftly growing music program included School of Music artist-teacher recitals and large choral works.
