Performance Opportunities
Showcase Gala Concert
All piano students will have the opportunity to perform in the 4,000-seat amphitheater, a highlight of the summer.
Festival Piano Recitals
Weekly student recitals provide performance experience in an intimate setting.
Chamber Music
All pianists will have the option to participate in chamber music, a joyful mix of collaborations with festival orchestra players and fellow pianists, presented in a series of public recitals.
MSFO Orchestral Pianist
Many of the Festival symphony concerts give piano students the opportunity to perform orchestral piano parts, an invaluable experience.
Residential Performances
Home-owners will often host performances, an opportunity for students to build relationships with our vital Chautauqua community.
Faculty Performances
Our piano faculty are featured in a series of solo, chamber, and concerto performances throughout the festival. 2025 features performances by Alexander Kobrin, Jon Nakamatsu with guest Jon Manasse, Alexander Gavrylyuk, Sara Davis Buechner, Jose Ramon Mendez, HaeSun Paik and a special alumnus recital by Jonathan Mamora.
In addition to these experiences in the piano program, there are solo and chamber music student recitals scheduled by the School of Music throughout the Chautauqua Music Festival.
With symphony, opera, theater, dance, visual arts, and a series of internationally acclaimed speakers and performers, our piano students experience Chautauqua’s extraordinary blend of artistic and intellectual programming in a place of stunning natural beauty.
