Geof Follansbee and Amy Gardner Assume New Roles in Office of Advancement
Chautauqua Institution announced today that Senior Vice President & Chief Advancement Officer Geof Follansbee will transition into a new role at the Institution, effective February 1. As Senior Philanthropic Advisor to the President, Follansbee will continue working closely with Chautauqua’s donors and President Michael Hill to advance the Institution’s fundraising priorities as expressed in Boundless, A Campaign for Chautauqua. Current Vice President of Advancement Amy Gardner will transition into the role of Senior Vice President & Chief Advancement Officer, assuming all management responsibilities for the Institution’s fundraising operations.
“In my work as a director on the Chautauqua Foundation board and then its Chief Executive Officer, and now as Senior Vice President & Chief Advancement Officer of Chautauqua Institution, I have relished the opportunity to connect with Chautauqua’s donors and community members,” said Follansbee. “This new role will allow me to focus solely on fostering those longstanding connections and building new, stronger relationships between the Institution and its supporters. Over the past five years, Amy has provided strong leadership to our advancement efforts. She will be a superb successor to me and I look forward to continuing working with her in our respective new roles.”
“Geof has done an exceptional job leading the Office of Advancement and, previously, the Chautauqua Foundation,” said President Hill. “One needn’t look further than the progress of Boundless, A Campaign for Chautauqua and the success of the Idea and Promise Campaigns to see Geof’s impact at Chautauqua. I value his advice and am so grateful to have the chance to work even more closely with him as we bring Boundless to fruition with all it will mean for the Institution’s future. And I couldn’t imagine a better person to take the reins as Senior Vice President & Chief Advancement Officer than Amy. I have the utmost confidence that her leadership and breadth of experience will take Chautauqua’s fundraising efforts to new heights. We are lucky to have her at the helm.”
