Amit Taneja Takes on Expanded Leadership Role at Chautauqua Institution
Chautauqua Institution today announced that Amit Taneja will assume additional responsibilities as Senior Vice President of Community Relations & Chief IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Accessibility) Officer. Reporting directly to Chautauqua President Michael E. Hill, Ed.D., Taneja will continue to drive key initiatives that make Chautauqua Institution a more diverse, equitable, inclusive, and accessible community while also deepening its engagement with community organizations.
In his expanded role, Taneja will lead efforts to strengthen community relations, acting as the principal executive liaison between the Institution and various community groups, including the Chautauqua Property Owners Association (CPOA). He will support volunteer appreciation initiatives, cultivate relationships with neighboring communities, and implement the Institution’s Resource Use Policy. Additionally, Taneja will collaborate with executive leadership to ensure consistent and effective communication and processes across departments that interact with community stakeholders.
As Chief IDEA Officer, Taneja will continue to lead the Institution’s efforts to invite diverse audiences, create inclusive experiences for patrons and staff, and enhance accessibility for individuals with disabilities. In the coming months, Taneja will host a webinar to update the community on IDEA related initiatives and discuss the next steps in this ongoing work.
“Amit has been instrumental in advancing our mission to create a more inclusive and engaged community,” said Hill. “This expanded role recognizes his exceptional contributions and positions him to further strengthen our connections with Chautauqua’s community groups, which play a critical role in creating a welcoming environment here. This work aligns well with Amit’s primary role as Chief IDEA Officer.”
Taneja brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in IDEA work, as well as a deep commitment to fostering vibrant, inclusive communities. His passion for collaboration, strategic vision, and ability to build relationships will be key as he continues to serve the Chautauqua Institution and the community.
