Your Ticket to a Summer of New Events & Experiences at Chautauqua
This summer Chautauqua Institution invites you to be a part of our 150th Anniversary season, as we celebrate the lectures, events and performances of our milestone year in 2024! With ticket sales kicking off on Jan. 23, we want to help make your purchase as easy and efficient as possible, starting with gate passes!
When planning your visit, there are two different gate pass options to consider: our Traditional Gate Pass (TGP) and our Grounds Access Pass (GAP). Though both passes offer unlimited access to Chautauqua’s breath-taking grounds, there are a few key elements to keep in mind when planning your trip.
Traditional Gate Pass (TGP)
Looking to experience all Chautauqua has to offer from day to day?
Our Traditional Gate Pass is the perfect all-inclusive ticket option. This pass offers unlimited access to the grounds during your entire stay, plus general admission to all Amphitheater events, Hall of Philosophy lectures, and Chautauqua Chamber Series: Guest and Resident Series at Elizabeth S. Lenna Hall.
Grounds Access Pass (GAP)
Looking for a more curated, hand-picked event experience as you explore Chautauqua?
Our Grounds Access Pass is a great fit for guests unable to regularly attend certain programs. Known as the “Create your own Chautauqua” pass, this pass offers unlimited grounds access, access to Amphitheater morning worship services, performances in Lenna Hall and ALL Hall of Philosophy events. Guests also have the opportunity to “hand pick” additional events to attend, purchasing tickets separately. This includes all remaining Amphitheater events, and other programs like our Chamber Series events.
Which Gate Pass is right for you?
A Traditional Gate Pass is for Chautauquans who are interested in attending a wide range of programming offered at Chautauqua each day. This type of pass is better suited for visitors who will attend several events regularly during their stay.
A Grounds Access Pass is structured to give Chautauquans who have other commitments a taste of our programming each day. Rather than having access to all programs, this type of pass gives visitors access to a few staple programming options like morning worship in the Amphitheater and Hall of Philosophy events. Visitors can then purchase additional tickets for remaining Amphitheater events, Chamber Series events, and more, as best fit their schedules.
Do I have to buy a gate pass to attend all Chautauqua programming?
Though many Chautauquans must purchase a gate pass for the duration of their trip, there are other ticketing options, for day trips or single events, like concerts. Gate Passes are not required when a single event ticket is purchased. Guests can opt to purchase a single ticket for a particular lecture, faith & spiritual program, or performance for events throughout our nine-week season.
Gate Passes and tickets are available online at tickets.chq.org, or Tuesday–Friday 10 a.m.–4 p.m. EST by phone at 716-357-6250 and in person. Join us as we celebrate 150 years of creative exploration, educational growth, relaxation and recreation this summer at Chautauqua.
