About Erika

My initial introduction to Chautauqua Institution came during my college years when I interned in the finance department as a cash receipt clerk, during the 2013 season. In 2020, I joined the Institution’s finance and accounting department as the cash control accountant. Today, my role here is within the same scope of duties that I was introduced to as an intern several years prior. My responsibilities include assisting in processing accounts payable, overseeing the processing of daily cash receipts, and providing financial support on a day-to-day basis to our venues on the grounds during the summer season.

Before my career began, I attended State University of New York at Fredonia where I graduated in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. After graduation, my introduction to working in finance began when I was hired at Northwest Bank where I remained for the next four years. During my time there, I transitioned from the day-to-day duties of a bank teller to a loan officer.

Why did you choose to work at Chautauqua? What do you like about working at Chautauqua?

During my internship, I was able to experience a glimpse of what Chautauqua could offer, not only from a professional standpoint, but also the culture and atmosphere that Chautauqua emits. When I had the opportunity to join the Chautauqua family again, I knew it was where I wanted to be in my career.

Personal Interests

Outside of Chautauqua, I enjoy spending my time with friends and family attending events, traveling and being outdoors.
