About Christian

Before becoming a full-time community safety officer, I began working at Chautauqua in 2021 as seasonal security staff. In 2022, I returned to my seasonal role but was asked to stay on year round to assist the Safety and Security Department as it transitioned from a police department. During the 2023 off season, I worked as a gate attendant while pursuing an associate’s degree at Jamestown Community College. During the 2024 Summer Assembly, I took on the role of event coordinator and staffing supervisor. 

Before joining the Chautauqua team, I served in the U.S. Army as a sergeant in the Military Police Corps, spending five years at Fort Cavazos, Texas, followed by three years in the Army Reserves. After leaving active duty, I worked as security for an emergency room, and later as the assistant security director at a retail center. I’m currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, with a minor in psychology of crime and justice at Mercyhurst University.

Why did you choose to work at Chautauqua? What do you like about working at Chautauqua?

I chose to work at CHQ because I enjoy the environment,  and the position I’m in currently is very compatible with my prior experience.
