Open Weekdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays 12 to 3 p.m.

▪ Capacity is limited, face coverings are required and social distancing rules apply.

▪ Children uner 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

▪ Computers and office services are available on a limited basis

▪ Enhanced sanitization and book-quarantine protocols are in place.

▪ Touch-less browsing is encouraged. Safe return bins are located throughout the library.

▪ Transactions are contact-free; preferred payment is exact change.

▪ Newspapers are currently unavailable; magazines may be checked out by request.

▪ In-person programs, meetings and food and beverage sharing are not permitted.

▪ Email your kazoo videos by August 3 to library @

    • Solos, household bands or "quaranteam" choirs welcome
    • Videos should be 30 seconds or less
    • Content may be edited and shared by CHQ through social media or other platforms
    • Please include participant name(s), song title and filming location in email

▪ On Library Day (Aug. 6), watch CHQ social media for ways to share your favorite book!

▪ "Join the Friends" with a gift-by-mail in any amount.

The Smith Memorial Library of Chautauqua Institution anchors the southern end of Bestor Plaza.
