Alumni Updates

Josh Dorman, Art 1986 & 1989, recently had an exhibition at Ryan Lee gallery in Chelsea, NYC. The show ran from September 4 – October 11, 2014.

Sarah Van Patten, Dancer 1995, 1997 &1998, is currently a principal with the San Francisco Ballet.

Jennifer Holloway, Voice 2002 – 2004, is currently wrapping up her role as Musetta in La Boheme with the English National Opera. Upcoming engagements include Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni with the Canadian Opera Company and Adalgisa in Norma with the Opéra National de Bordeaux.

Jonathan Beyer, Voice 2003 – 2009, in the 2014-2015 season Jonathan will return to Opera Philadelphia for the role of Figaro in Barbiere di Siviglia and will be reprising the role with Opera Theater of Saint Louis. He also returns to Dallas for Marcello in La Boheme and to Anchorage for Sharpless in Madama Butterfly. Jonathan will make his Florida Grand Opera Debut as Guglielmo in Così fan tutte, and will be singing holiday concerts with the Baton Rouge and Lansing Symphonies. He will be returning to the Southwest Michigan Symphony for Brahms Requiem, and will be making his debut at Cincinnati Opera as Ping in Turandot.

Kazeem Abdullah, Conducting Fellow 2005, Since 2012 Kazeem has been Generalmusikdirektor of the City of Aachen, Germany, where he leads both the orchestral and operatic seasons. Kazeem previously served as Assistant Conductor at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, a three-year post to which he was appointed by Music Director James Levine.

Amanda Majeski, Voice 2005, made her Met Opera debut playing the Countess in the Met's new production of Marriage of Figaro, which opened on September 22, 2014.

Bryce Pinkham, CTC 2007, Elisabeth Moss, who stars on the television series "Mad Men," will star opposite Gentleman's Guide Tony nominee Bryce Pinkham and "American Pie" actor Jason Biggs in a Broadway revival of Wendy Wasserstein's Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning play The Heidi Chronicle. The play is set to begin in February 2015.

Lacey Jo Benter, Voice 2008, 2009 &2013, and Elizabeth Owen, Voice 2012 & 2013, have advanced to the semi-finals round of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in March 2015. More alumni are sure to join them as the Region Winners continue to be announced!

Lauren Lovette, Apprentice Dancer 2009, is currently a soloist with the New York City Ballet.

Gabriel Ebert, CTC 2007, won a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a musical (Matilda) in 2013. He also won the 2012 Obie Award for Performance for 4000 Miles.

Tyler Rhoades, Apprentice Dancer 2013, has been hired by the Colorado Ballet to dance in their second company

Taylor Blanton and Tess Coffey, MSFO 2013, have formed the group Sidecar Brass. Sidecar Brass is a trio of classically trained musicians who believe that music-making is a conversation and experience. Their website is www.sidecarbrass.com

Chad Goodman, MSFO 2013 &2014, is the founder and music director of Elevate Ensemble, a chamber ensemble that emphasizes cross-artistic collaboration. Chad currently lives in San Francisco where he works as a trumpeter, conductor, and music educator.
