2020 Gate & Parking Pass Procedures

Chautauqua strongly encourages all patrons visiting the grounds, whether for a day or for an extended stay, to order free gate and parking passes in advance. You may experience long wait times at the Main Gate Welcome Center if using curbside ordering and delivery.

 

A complimentary gate pass will be required to access the grounds during our 2020 season, whether for a day visit or an extended stay. The Main Gate Welcome Center is not open to the public. You must order your passes via phone (716.357.6250) or through our online ticketing portal.* Once your order has been placed, you'll have the choice to receive your pass in the following ways:

  • Email Delivery: Passes ordered in advance will be emailed to you as a PDF. This print-at-home pass should be presented by each guest when entering and exiting the grounds. You may also display the ticket from your mobile device.
  • Curbside: Those who cannot print at home or have not arranged for their gate pate pass in advance should, upon arrival, park in one of the numbered spaces behind the Main Gate Welcome Center. From that space, please call the Ticket Office and request curbside delivery. A member of our staff will deliver the pass to your vehicle.

On-grounds parking will operate similarly to a usual season. Private, white-stake, South Lot and North Lot spaces will require a complimentary parking pass verified by the Ticket Office. All others should park in the Main Lot, free of charge. No pass is required for Main Lot and no attendant will be present.

*Online orders must be placed at least 24 hours in advance of pass start time. If placing an order within 24 hours of pass start, please call the ticket office at 716.357.6250.

2020 Day Pass Time Limits

Day visitors will be limited to a four-hour pass timeframe. We strongly encourage ordering a gate pass prior to arrival. Those who have not done so may order a pass by pulling into one of the numbered spots by the Main Gate Welcome Center and calling the Ticket Office at 716.357.6250.

Morning: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Afternoon: 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Evening: 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Recreation

Chautauqua offers eight Har-Tru tennis courts at the Turner Community Center recreation campus. Two courts are illuminated for night play. Private and group lessons, tournaments, clinics, junior development programs and special events are offered. During Chautauqua’s summer season, membership registrations will only take place at the tennis courts.


Golf

Honoring a golfing tradition since 1896 the Chautauqua Golf Club presents quality, professional service and the challenge of 36 championship holes. Both the Lake and the Hill Course have received four-star ratings from Golf Digest magazine. Club membership includes greens fees and use of the Learning Center — a complete teaching and practice facility.

Boat Mooring & Registration

Chautauqua Institution offers rental slip, ramp and buoy mooring in an assigned space. Vessels moored at an Institution or private dock are required to purchase and display a current registration sticker. The mooring rental period must match the dates on an accompanying gate pass.

Slip or ramp assignments for Institution-owned docks are subject to a registration fee and a mooring fee and are billed separately on receipt.

Sports Club

The Chautauqua Sports Club offers a wide variety of recreation activities. Kayak, canoe and paddleboat rentals, shuffleboard, lawn bowling, and more. There are no membership fees, and all services may be purchased at the Sports Club.
