For this Arts Education installment of CHQ Watch Parties, join Deborah Sunya Moore, CHQ VP of Performing and Visual Arts and Kennedy Center workshop leader, as she leads this arts integrated lesson for children, families and teachers. Through the joy of singing a story, students in Pre-K through second grade explore relationships between reading comprehension strategies and introductory elements of music with colorful and fun picture books. The lessons are meant to be interactive for the whole family! Deborah will be on hand to answer questions in the comments section. Please post your thoughts and questions throughout the reading, especially from the little ones!

Through the book Pout-Pout Fish Goes to School by Deborah Diesen, illustrated by Dan Hanna, Deborah guides viewers through verse-chorus form, steady beat, and how just one helpful, caring person can make a difference in a child’s life.
