For this week's episode, we're proud to feature a presentation by Fr. Richard Rohr, who joined us for an entire week titled "Falling Upward," July 14–19, 2019. Our CHQ Watch Party will showcase Fr. Richard's first lecture of the week, on Monday, July 15, exploring "The First Half of Life." In a series focused on how to best navigate life's obstacles, Rohr followed Monday's lecture with musings on "The Transition," "The Resistance" and finally, "The Second Half of Life." The remaining lectures in the series will be available for viewing on Chautauqua's Online Grounds,

Fr. Richard Rohr is a globally recognized ecumenical teacher, Franciscan priest of the New Mexico Province and founder of the Center for Action and Contemplation (CAC) in Albuquerque, New Mexico. His teaching is grounded in the Franciscan alternative orthodoxy — practices of contemplation and self-emptying, expressing itself in radical compassion, particularly for the socially marginalized. Fr. Richard is the author of numerous books, including, most recently, The Divine Dance: The Trinity and Your Transformation. One of Chautauqua's staff members will be on hand to lead and moderate a discussion in the comments section.

In this time of social distancing, we’re all looking for ways to be connected. To this end, we’re trying something new here at Chautauqua: CHQ Watch Parties, highlighting some of our favorite lectures from the past few years. Once a week, we’ll gather remotely on Facebook to revisit some of the best Chautauqua lectures and programs of the past few years, and to share our questions and comments with each other. We’ve always known how to have a conversation at Chautauqua, and now we’re bringing that conversation into your homes.
