A beautiful destination for your special event

The Athenaeum Hotel at Chautauqua Institution provides a gorgeous lakeside venue perfect for your special event. With exceptional service, unique options, and beautiful locations, any wedding, rehearsal dinner, shower, banquet or conference is simply enchanting at the Athenaeum Hotel.

Getting married in Chautauqua Institution allows for many options for your ceremony and reception. Many choose the setting of the Hall of Philosophy, a more traditional and very romantic wedding hall, reminiscent of an early Greek temple with its stone-like columns, open walls, and heavy-timber roof. Others choose a ceremony on our grand 200-foot front porch, overlooking the sunset on Chautauqua Lake, or a scenic ceremony by our Bell tower on the Lake, surrounded by beautiful beds of flowers.

The Athenaeum Hotel also provides many options for your reception including inside our grand hotel dining room or ballroom, outside on the front lawn, or again by the bell tower on the lake. Lodging is also available for all of your guests.

Hosting a destination wedding at our beautiful hotel provides endless possibilities to make your special day as perfect as you can imagine.
