Chautauqua Theater Company is committed to developing the next generation of theater artists. The heart of CTC’s educational programming is the Conservatory, which brings together 19 of the top emerging theater artists from around the country for hands-on training and work experience that helps to bridge the gap between artist training and professional careers.

The Acting Conservatory members play leading roles in mainstage productions and the New Play Workshop series, as well as our touring Shakespeare production. Design Fellows assist designers on mainstage productions and take leading design roles in the New Play Workshop and touring Shakespeare productions. Directing Fellows assist director on mainstage productions and the New Play Workshop and take a leading role in community engagement initiatives and talkbacks.

All conservatory members receive a full scholarship including housing and a stipend. Conservatory alumni currently work across the country from Broadway to regional theater houses and CTC frequently welcomes back Conservatory alumni as guest artists on our mainstage.
