We challenged Rachel to a 30-second interview. Here is what she told us:

Q: What is your favorite opera?
A: (It's so hard to narrow down! But...) Don Giovanni, Werther, Gianni Schicchi, and Don Carlo.

Q: Who are your favorite singers?
A: (Yup, see above...) Giulietta Simionato, Maria Callas, and Franco Corelli.

Q: What are your dream roles?
A: It's so hard to choose just one (or even a few), but some of my top dream roles would be: The Composer (Ariadne auf Naxos), Charlotte (Werther), Eboli (Don Carlo), and Santuzza (Cavalleria rusticana).

Q: What was your favorite singing experience so far or your favorite role that you have performed?
A: One of my favorite performing experiences was singing Berta (in Il barbiere di Siviglia) at Palm Beach Opera in 2014. As much as I love playing vixens and boys, it was so much fun to hobble around the stage as an old lady and portray such a crotchety, serious character in such a bubbling, delicious comedy.

Q: What do you love about opera?
A: I love masterful, moving singing and the skillful collaboration involved in opera. I love those moments during a live performance of an opera when all of the different elements of a production (singing, staging, drama, etc.) come together in beautiful synchronicity, and the audience holds its breath in awe.
Q: What is your favorite flavor of icecream?
A:Dark chocolate sorbet.

Q: What else should we know?
A:One of my life dreams: to be the first opera singer to host Saturday Night Live!
