Whatever educational experience you are seeking, Chautauqua’s Special Studies program continues to create distinct new learning opportunities for the 10,000 lifelong learners that enroll in courses each summer.  More than 300 teachers, experienced in subjects they love, create a diverse assortment of courses, often offering intergenerational learning experiences.

Special Studies offers classes to youth and adults in subjects ranging from art, music, photography, culinary arts, religion and philosophy, to fitness, dance, history, literature and writing. Enjoy Chautauqua’s Special Studies’ unique learning experience and enrich your mind, body and spirit.

Teaching at Chautauqua

The application to submit a course proposal for the 2018 season is now closed. To teach during the 2019 season, you may apply beginning in April 2018. The deadline to submit course proposals to teach in 2019 will be Oct. 1, 2018.
