Family Entertainment
Our Popular Entertainment events feature a dynamic mix of artists, musicians, entertainers and speakers, and attract crowds to our our 4,000-seat, open-air Amphitheater. The Family Entertainment Series features free performances in Smith-Wilkes Hall and select $20 performances in the Amphitheater. This series appeals to family members of all ages providing fun, interactive entertainment ranging from music to mime, puppetry, dance and much more. Sunday Entertainment is free at Chautauqua; your free admission to the grounds includes an afternoon show in the Amphitheater.

Ideas and opinions are exchanged in an open, challenging atmosphere, and Chautauqua's knowledgeable audiences have the opportunity to participate in question-and-answer sessions at the conclusion of the lectures.

Heritage Lecture Series
Presented by the Chautauqua Institution Archives, this series combines the research of Archives staff with notable historians and Chautauqua scholars in order to explore the rich history of Chautauqua and its effect on American culture.

VACI Galleries Exhibitions
Every summer, Visual Arts at Chautauqua Institution (VACI) presents nine exhibitions in the galleries of the Strohl and Fowler-Kellogg Art Centers, as well as the Melvin Johnson Sculpture Garden. These diverse spaces allow VACI to host a variety of contemporary shows from nationally recognized artists. The focus in our galleries is on contemporary work in a wide range of media and sensibilities.

Use all your creative talents for this thematic exhibition that will be shown on the first floor of Fowler-Kellogg Art Center August 6 - 26, 2020. Imagine a part of the world that you've never been to, space exploration, spiritual retreats or an unknown place you saw in a dream. It could be a space in an attic you have never visited, a horizon line in the ocean or a future home you see yourself living in. Works can be both two and three dimensional. We look forward to seeing your most talented efforts put into this 2020 Open Members Exhibition!
