Rev. Dr. David Emmanuel Goatley is the executive secretary-treasurer for Lott Carey, a global Christian missional community founded in 1897, which helps churches to extend the Christian witness throughout the world. The Lott Carey network of churches and people shares prayer partnership, financial support, and technical assistance with communities engaged in ministries of evangelism, compassion, empowerment, and advocacy globally.

As Lott Carey’s chief executive officer, Rev. Goatley cultivates vision, oversees administration, and leads development efforts to invest in indigenous leaders and people in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Europe, North America, Oceania, and South America. An ordained Baptist minister who has been an urban missionary, lead pastor, and university and seminary professor, Rev. Goatley earned associate and baccalaureate degrees from the University of Louisville (KY) and the Master of Divinity and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (KY). 

A global strategist, leadership mentor, and thought leader, Dr. Goatley also serves in leadership roles with the World Council of Churches – the broadest and most inclusive global ecumenical movement to promote that works toward Christian unity; Baptist World Alliance – the global network of Baptist communions and congregations; and the Board of Directors for the NAACP – the nation’s oldest, largest and most widely recognized grassroots-based civil rights organization.  He is an author, publisher, and preacher who resides in Metropolitan Washington, DC with his family.
